Easton stays undefeated with 10-3 win over I4C Victory

from Cory Morrison - with update

Easton travelled to the Carp fairgrounds this past Thursday evening for a matchup with I4C Victory. Kyle Olson got his first start of the year for Easton while I4C countered with Neil Cooke.

After Cooke opened with a 1-2-3 first the Victory started strong in their half of the inning with singles off the bats of Houle, McGuire, and Gourgon to put I4C up 1-0.

They added to their lead in the second as Shawn Simzer lead off with a double to the gap and later scored on another Victory single.

Carp continued to add to their total in the 3rd as Trevor Wood doubled to deep center and later scored on an Al Read sinlge.

That was it for Easton starter Olson as he was replaced by Dan Konkle to start the 4th.

Easton was finally able to get on the scoresheet in their half of the 4th as Scott Marion singled and was plated by a 2Run bomb off the bat of Todd Fraser. That was Fraser's 3rd homerun in as many games.

Easton took the lead in the 5th as Scott Marion doubled, Todd Fraser singled to cash Marion and took second on the throw home then Randy Peck singled to score Fraser. With Peck on second due to a passed ball Cory Morrison singled to score him and took second on an error to the left fielder and tried to take 3rd as well but was thrown out to to end the inning.

With Easton up 5-3 heading into the bottom of 6 Victory starter Neil Cooke was replaced by Trevor Wood. Wood walked the first batter Kamps but was able to get the next two batters in order before walking Konkle then giving up a single to Chad Milne to score Kamps. Scott Marion then collected his 3rd hit of the game and Todd Fraser followed that with another single to score two more Easton runners.

Easton capped the scoring in 7th as Morrison led off with a solo homerun to center then Kamps singled, took second on an error and scored on a Konkle single. Konkle then shut the door in the bottom of 7 to end the game. Final score was Easton 10 VS Carp 3.
