Softball Canada Names 2008 Junior Men's National Team


(Ottawa, ON) - Seventeen (17) of Canada's brightest future male softball players have been named to the Junior Men's National Team and will represent Canada at the ISF Junior Men’s World Championships in Whitehorse, Yukon from June 20th to the 29th, 2008.

The athletes who have been chosen to represent Canada at the Junior Men’s World Championships are:

“We are excited with this year’s Canadian Junior Men’s Team” noted Duke Cormier, Canada’s Team Leader for the event. “We have depth at pitching, strong defence and good team speed and are looking forward to the support on home soil in Whitehorse. We will play a 10 game exhibition series in Vancouver to further prepare and allow this talented group to come together and prepare for a chance to win in Whitehorse.”

“If past World Championships are indicators of what will occur in Whitehorse, the fans will certainly be in for a softball treat” added Canadian Head Coach Tom Doucette. “There are so many countries that have high end programs that the week should have some epic confrontations.”
