Thursday night GOFL results from Carp

Team Easton 6 Orleans Gators 3
from Cory Morrison

Easton prevailed 6-3 over Orleans last night in Carp. This was the first end of a double header scheduled due to an earlier tilt being rained out.

Both teams started the game with a little shorthanded although Easton was able to field a full squad in their half of the 1st while Orleans played with the minimum 8 players.

The Gators jumped out to an early 2-0 in with the help of 3 well placed singles and a pass ball.

Easton tied the game in the 2nd as Dan Konkle and Kyle Olson both walked followed by consecutive singles off the bats of Kevin Chevrier and Todd Fraser to plate Konkle and Olson.

Easton then took the lead in the 3rd as Lukas Kamps singled and was driven home by a Scott Marion double.

After retiring Cory Morrison to start the 4th Orleans starter Nick Bowman walked Chevrier and Fraser, Randy Peck then hit a ball up the middle that was misplaced by the second baseman to load the bases. A wild pitched plated Chevrier then Chad Milne walked to reload the bases. Lukas Kamps followed with a fielders choice to plate Fraser and negate Peck at 3rd. Two more walks to Konkle and Marion put Easton up 6-2.

Orleans added another run in their 1/2 of the 6th but that's as close as they would get.

Dan Konkle had the win for Easton while Nick Bowman suffered the loss.

Easton Batters
Kevin Chevrier 2/3 Rbi BB
Randy Peck 2/4
Lukas Kamps 2/4 Rbi
Scott Marion 1/3 2B 2Rbi
