Loughborough Fastball League ready for 2009

Jeff Hannah passes on this good news update on the Loughborough Fastball League. A nice trend to see leagues in the area healthy and expanding.

The Loughborough League has expanded to 9 teams this year. The league is welcoming the Sydenham Midgets to our league and is very happy to have them involved, as it brings some more youth to the league and will help them to prepare for their Midget tournament schedule.

The teams in the league are:

North Fredricksburg Kings (defending champions)
Kingston Cowboys
Enterprise
Sunbury
Napanee North Key Juniors
Napanee Midgets
Sydenham
Battersea
Sydenham Midgets

There will be two League showcase nights held this year where there will be 4 games scheduled in one evening. One in the East and one in the West.

The first is scheduled for Thursday June 18th at Keeley Road near Sydenham.
7:00pm games are Sunbury vs Battersea and Cowboys vs Sydenham Midgets.
9:00pm ganes are North Fred vs Sydenham and Napanee Midgets vs Enterprise

The second is scheduled for Thursday July 23rd in Napanee.
7:00pm games are Napanee Midgets vs Sydenham Midgets and Cowboys vs North Fred.
9:00pm ganes are Enterprise vs Napanee Juniors and Battersea vs Sydenham

The Napanee Juniors will also be hosting a tournament on the weekend of July 25-26.

The playoff format has changed this year, and instead of playing series to determine the playoff champion, the league will be holding a Double elimination tournament the weekend of September 11-13, at the Keeley Road diamonds near Sydenham.
