Easton 5 Orleans 3 - full details

from Cory Morrison

Easton 5 VS Orleans 3

Easton got back on the winning track with a close 5-3 win over the home side Gators last night at Pierre Rocque Park in Orleans. The Gators started strong in the bottom of the 1st as Matt Alkerton hit a 2 Run shot to straight away center that also plated Jordan Adams who had previously walked. Easton fought back in their half as the 3rd as Kyle Gourgon led off with a walk then was sacrificed to second by the aging veteran Kevin Chevrier. Cory Morrison then singled to score Gourgon, took second on the throw home then took 3rd on a pass ball to Dave Tubman who walked to put runner's on the corners. Chad Milne followed with a single to score Morrison and tie the game. After Pat O'connor struck out Scott Marion singled to score Tubman and put the visitors up 3-2.

Orleans tied the game in the 4th as Chad Hargrove reached on an error. Next batter Jason Nailer hit a liner to center that bobbled by the CF allowing Hargrove to take 3rd. The ensuing throw to second was also misplayed and Hargrove scampered home.
Easton regained the lead in the 5th as Tubman walked for the 3rd consecutive time and reached second on a passed ball. Pat O'Connor then singled to plate Tubman. The visiting side added to their lead in the 6th as Kyle Gourgon doubled to deep left then took 3rd and home on passed balls. Brad Porter had a 1-2-3 7th to seal the victory.
