Quyon 3 Carp 2

from GOFL.ca

Quyon travelled to Carp Thursday night to make up a game that had originally been cancelled due to weather. The Flyers came away with the 3-2 victory.

Matt Greer had the win, Neil Cooke took the loss.

The Flyers jumped out to a quick start, capitalizing on a Carp error and putting three runs across in the top of the first inning to take a 3-0 lead.

Carp managed to mount a late rally late, starting with an Al Read solo homerun in the fifth. Quyon got out of the inning with no further damage however.

In the bottom of seven, I4C put two runners on with only 1 out. Tony MacDonald then came to the plate with a pinch-hit RBI single to bring I4C within one run. The ensuing play, with runners at the corners, saw a ground ball to Flyers second baseman Luke Young. A close play at the plate had the runner called out. Greer then induced another ground ball for the third and final out, and the Flyers narrowly held on for the victory.
