Easton and Quyon tie at 8 - now with story

Team Easton and Quyon Flyers tied 8-8 in GOFL play on Tuesday night in Quyon. Matt Greer and Drew Hathway threw for Quyon, while Brad Porter had the ball for Easton.

Team Easton ferried over to Quyon last night and after blowing a 5-1 lead through 2 innings settled for an 8-8 draw.

Easton opened the scoring in the top of the first as Dave Tubman led off with a double then went to 3rd on a Kevin Chevrier ground out. After Cory Morrison walked Randy Peck hit a sac fly to score Tubman.

Matt Greer homered to lead off the bottom of the 1st for Quyon to tie game.

Easton sent 10 batters to the plate in the top of 2 and came away with 4 runs to take a 5-1 lead.

Quyon countered with 6 unanswered runs over the next 3 innings to take a 7-5 lead mostly due to no less than 6 errors by the Easton fielders.

The visiting side cut into the lead in the 6th as Chad Milne was HBP and scored on an Andy Davey double to the left field corner. Cory Morrison then homered in the 6th to knot the game at 7.

Matt Greer answered back in the bottom of 6 with his second homerun of the night giving Quyon the lead again.

Easton was able to push the tying run across in the 7th as Pat O'connor walked with 1 out then went to 3rd on an Andy Davey single. Scott Marion then hit a high chopper down the 1st base line to score O'connor. Brad Porter was able to get the Quyon batters in order in the bottom of 7 to end the scoring at 8 apiece.
