UOVMFL report Week 5 and 6

Weeks five and six saw some interesting fastball in the Upper Ottawa Valley.
To start week five, the Micksburg SR Twins took an 11-5 decision over the Douglas Green Sox. Jamey Mick had the win for the Twins, with relief coming from both Corey and Shawn Costello. Shawn Dellaire took the loss for the Green Sox. Jamey Mick had a homerun for the home team, and Shawn Costello added two bombs to help Micksburg to the victory.
The first half of a doubleheader scheduled for June 11 in Shawville was postponed to a later date. The 8:30 game saw McNab hand the ball to Troy Wilson, who went the distance earning the W in a 7-0 shutout over the Snappers. Earl Kearns took the loss and Matt Greer saw some time in relief.
Week six saw the Snappers travel to Douglas for the first time this season. The June 16 tilt was moved up from the original date of June 26 due to an umpiring conflict. Earl Kearns went 6 for the visiting team, earning the victory, as Shawville downed Douglas by a score of 13-4. Jonathan Shields took the loss and Shawn Dellaire saw some action in relief. Shawn Laframboise had a three-run homerun in the fifth, chasing Shields from the game. Dellaire replaced him and with his first pitch Matt Greer took him deep over the left field fence for a solo shot of his own.
The June 17th game had McNab continuing their hot streak as they downed the JR Twins by a score of 9-3. Andrew Jahn had the win for McNab, throwing all five in the mercy shortened game. Fabian Christie took the loss with relief coming from Ryan Clarke.
Shawville got their second win of the week on Thursday night against the SR Twins. Matt Greer had the win for Shawville and added two homeruns to help his cause, leading to an 8-3 final. Jamey Mick took the loss for the Twins.
