Quyon 11 Carp 0

from GOFL.ca / Shawn Laframboise

The Flyers bats came alive early as Quyon beat Carp 11-0 in the second half of a home-and-home on Tuesday. Drew Hathway had the win for Quyon throwing all five innings. Neil Cooke took the loss with relief from Trevor Wood.

I4C Carp threatened in the top half of the first. After leading the game off with a single, Eric Colvin stole second base. After striking out the next two batters, Hathway surrendered a single to Al Read, however Colvin was thrown out by the left fielder.

Quyon put nine batters to the plate in each of the first two innings to score all 11 runs.

Matt Greer led off the home half of the first inning with a double. After being sacrificed to third by Dennis McCleary, he scored on a Nick Armitage single to left field. After back-to-back doubles by Hathway and Joe McCleary, Shawn Laframboise hit a two-run homerun to left-center.

In the second inning, Dennis McCleary singled with one out, and Armitage followed that up with a two-run homer of his own. Hathway then singled, and Joe McCleary hit a two-run shot. Finally, after a Steve McCord double, Laframboise homered for the second time to plate the 10th and 11th runs.
