The Ottawa Blitz pulled together a 7-6 come from behind win in the early game in Quyon on Tuesday night.
The Quyon Flyers got off to a quick start in the first inning when Steve McCord hit a 3-run homer to left off Blitz starter Derick Bulley.
The Blitz cut the lead to 2 runs in the top of the 2nd after a couple defensive miscues by the Flyers, scoring Andrew Bruce who reached base earlier when a throw to first bounced off his helmet.
The Blitz tied the game at 3 in the top of the 3rd with 2 more runs. Darron Barr walked and was scored by a double by Andrew Bruce. Then Bruce scored on a double by Tony Searle.
The Flyers responded quickly in the bottom of the 3rd by scoring 3 runs off the bats of Steve McCord, Curtis Daley and Kenny Fleck.
Will Mood started on the mound for the Blitz in the 4th inning and was able to escape a number of Quyon scoring chances, holding the score at 6-3 until the top of the 6th.
The Blitz capitalized on their best opportunity of the night in the 6th when Derick Bulley put the Blitz up 7-6 with a grand slam to centre field.
Will Mood was able to hold the Flyers scoreless in the 6th and 7th (helped by a game ending diving grab by Darron Barr), earning his first GOFL win.

Due to an injury delay in the first game of the doubleheader, the second game was shortened to 5 innings to ensure that players could catch the last ferry.
Quyon won 4-2 over Manotick, with Drew Hathway getting the win and Trevor Lahey taking the loss. Tony Riches drove in both Manotick runs.
