Stittsville takes game 1 over Manotick - with more info

Stittsville defeated Manotick 8-2 in game one of the GOFL semi-final at the Grove on Thursday night.

Trevor Lahey had the loss with relief from Tony Riches, while Dan Bradley had the win.

Wily veteran Don Cox had a home run for the Printers to put them out to a 2-0 lead in the first, but the 56ers came back for the victory.

With 2 outs in the bottom of the third Darren Featherstone hit a solo shot.

Ryan Bond lead off the 4th with a walk and advanced to 2nd on a passed ball, then to third on Scott Jessiman's sac bunt, and scored on a Dan Bradley single. Tyler Nystedt then hit a single and McCartney hit a double to put Stittsville up with a 4-2 lead.

Nystedt and Mike Barrett singled in the 6th to set the table for a Scott Herriot 3run blast, 7-2. At this point Tony Riches relieved Trevor Lahey and Featherstone hit a triple as the first batter. John Craig then hit a walk off triple, 8-2 to end the game.

Game 2 in the series is Wednesday night in Manotick at 8pm.
