Kars edge North Gower 2-0 in Game 1

Kars Aces took a 1-0 lead in their playoff series over the North Gower Marlboroughs win a 2-0 win at Manotick last night.
Pitching was the name of the game in this one as the throwers combined for 30 strikeouts in the contest. Brad Porter had the win, giving up three hits and striking out 17. Shannon Borho took the loss, allowing only four hits and striking out 13.
The speedy Kristian Knapp scored on a passed ball in the first to get the Aces a 1-0 lead. Lukas Kamps' well placed bunt single scored Matt Alkerton in the fifth for the insurance run.
Chad Costello was 2/3 for Kars while Anil Hayne was 1/2 for the Marlboroughs.
