Arkansas softball update
Back in the winter, we featured a GOFL Interview with Kyle Jamieson, currently coaching with the Arkansas Razorbacks women's fastball team in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
KJ's girls aren't having a great season (current record 11-35), but he wasn't kidding about the locals taking things seriously down there. At the most recent home game at Bogle Park on April 17th, a 5-4 loss to South Carolina, there were 1078 fans in the park and the game was televised on "ESPN-U". They also played a game against #1 ranked Alabama down in Tuscaloosa, AL and there were 2641 fans in the stands for the March 25th game.
I'd say it compares somewhat with fan interest in GOFL play. I believe one game in Stittsville last year featured 6 fans, (including two curious squirrels) and was shown on a taped delay basis on North Gower Country Cable.
Good luck to KJ and the Razorbacks and let's hope for a strong finish to their season.
