GOFL Week 1 Round Up

The first week of the GOFL season saw five games played.

Quyon Combat Flyers won both games of their two game 'road trip', defeating Kars Aces on Tuesday in the league opener in North Gower 8-4 and the Barrhaven Broadway Blues 5-0 in Manotick on Wednesday in the early game of the double dip. The Aces defeated the Ottawa Blitz 10-2 in six innings in the late game of the doubleheader.

Quyon manager Kenny Fleck did a little "media promotion" on Wednesday morning on the Team 1200, resulting in at least a couple of extra fans showing up to the games in Manotick, including an elderly lady who was almost in tears she was so excited to finally find some to good fastball to watch.

West Carleton Electric started with a big win on Wednesday at the Grove, with a 10-3 victory in six innings over the Stittsville 56ers.

The week wrapped up on Thursday with I4C Victory getting in the win column, defeating the Blitz 8-6 in a back-and-forth game at the Carp Fairgrounds.
