Good year ahead for West Carleton Minor Softball
Another great year is ahead for West Carleton Minor Softball, with registration numbers looking good.
The year, the league will feature nine Atom "5 pitch" teams, with Constance Bay returning to the loop for the first time in many years, two teams in Carp, two teams in Kinburn, two teams in Dunrobin and two teams in Fitzroy Harbour (with one team featuring the Caveman in the lineup and Mrs. Fitzroy Fastball handling coaching duties).
There will be seven Mites teams, with three in Carp, two in Kinburn, one in Dunrobin and one in Fitzroy Harbour (featuring Fitzroy Junior in the field and yours truly handling coaching duties.
The Squirt Boys league will have five teams: one in Fitzroy Harbour, two in Carp, one in Kinburn and one in Dunrobin. There will also be a Peewee Boys league with a team in each of Fitzroy, Carp, Kinburn and Dunrobin.
Squirt and Peewee Girls will combine to form a four team league with two team in Carp and one each in Fitzroy and Kinburn.
At the Bantam level, there will be three combined West Carleton girls teams which will play out of Kinburn and two combined WC boys teams which will play out of Carp. These teams will requesting to join with the Stittsville league.
The league is also currently hosting a Softball Ontario pitching dlinic which was completely "sold out". Both the Caveman and Fitzroy Junior will be toeing the slab this year after some expert instruction by Jamey Mick.
