Quyon wins 5-4 over Micksburg UPDATED

The Quyon Flyers won 5-4 at home over the Micksburg Twins in Greater Ottawa Fastball League play on Thursday night.

Matt Greer earned the win on the slab for Quyon, and Joran Graham was the losing pitcher for Micksburg.

Joe McCleary and Dennis McCleary hit homers for the Flyers, while Jamey Mick hit one out for the Twins.

Micksburg got on the board in the first when Kerr Childerhose lead off with a single and scored on Jamey Mick's home run to make it 2-0 Twins.

Quyon got a run back in the home half of the first on Dennis McCleary's solo shot.

The Flyers tied it up in the third. Greer drew a walk and advanced to third on two passed balls. Greer then scored on Randy Peck's ground out.

Quyon took the lead for the first time in the fifth on Joe McCleary's solo homer to right.

With the Flyers up 3-2 going into the top of the seventh inning, Micksburg scored a pair. With two out and runners on first and second, Quinton Rook hit a single that was misjudged, scoring Graham from second base. When the throw in from the field went out of play, the Twins were up 4-3 going into the bottom of the seventh.

Quyon managed a come back to win. Shawn Laframboise reached on an infield single. Greer reached on the fielder's choice which erased Moe; Greer then stole second. Joe McCleary walked and Greer moved to third on a passed ball. The Twins decided to intentionally walk Randy Peck to load the bases. On a wild pitch, Greer scored to tie things at four and all runners advanced. Curtis Daley reached base to load it up again when Graham went home on his chopper to the mound but no runners advanced. Earl Kearns then hit a walk off single to left to win the game for the Flyers and earn himself the Caveman's Choice honours as player of the game.
