Micksburg Twins defeat West Carleton Electric 4-2

The Micksburg Twins defeated West Carleton Electric 4-2 in Greater Ottawa Fastball League play on Tuesday night in Fitzroy Harbour.

Joran Graham had the win for the Twins, while Andy Barber took the loss for the 'Trics, even though he struck out 18 batters. Both pitchers went the distance.

The Electric had the bases loaded in both the first inning and second inning, but failed to cash any runs.

After three scoreless innings, Micksburg got on the board first with a run in the top of the fourth. Quinton Rook lead off with a line drive triple. After a strike out, Chad Costello's RBI single just off the glove of diving shortstop Michael Cavanagh scored Rook.

Fitzroy got two back in the bottom of the fourth. After Graham struck out the first two batters, Jon Daley doubled off hand to left field. He was brought in on a home run by Barber.

Micksburg's three runs scored in the fifth proved to be the difference in the game. After a strike out, Matt McIntyre walked, then moved to third on a wild pitch and a passed ball. Scott Conroy's hard grounder to short was fielded by Cavanagh, who threw to home to get the second out at the plate. Kyle Jackson then singled to put runners on the corners. A single by Rook drove in Conroy to tie the game, and subsequent double by Graham scored two runs to put the Twins up 4-2.
