West Carleton Squirts finish second at Provincials
West Carleton Junior Electric Squirts (U12) team finished second at the Ontario Amateur Softball Association Provincial "B" Tournament in Napanee on the weekend.
The mini-'Trics did things the hard way in the eight team double knockout event, losing the first game Saturday morning 7-6 against the Kitchener-Waterloo Hallman Twins.
WC then reeled off four straight wins:
16-0 over Oshawa BBs
7-4 over Westport Storm
12-10 over Kitchener-Waterloo Hallman Twins
6-5 over Baden Pirates
Out of gas in the final, they lost 17-6 to the Tavistock Athletics who went undefeated on the weekend.
Caveman had a 2-0 pitching record and saw relief duty in the two losses as well.
In the Squirt Provincial "A" Tournament held the same weekend, Napanee Express were champs, defeating the Tweed Longhorns in the final.
