Kars sews up second place on Wednesday night
The Kars Aces took three of a possible four points on Wednesday night in Greater Ottawa Fastball League play in Manotick, good enough to earn second overall in regular season standings.
Kars Aces 3 I4C Victory 3
The first game of the evening resulted in Kars and I4C tying at 3. Cory Alkerton pitched for Kars, allowing four hits, walking three and striking out 12. Matt McNish threw for I4C and also allowed four hits, hit one batter, walked five and struck out three.
Brad Pender led the Kars hitters going two for four with a double, and RBI and scoring a run. Nick Ellis also had a triple for the Aces. Curtis Scurr had a two run homer for I4C in the seventh to tie things up.
Kars Aces 3 Ottawa Valley As 1
The Aces won the late game with a 3-1 victory over the Valley As. Brad Porter had the win on the slab, while Ben Broek went the distance for the visitors. Jordan Shipclark had an RBI for Kars and Chad Milne drove in the other two. Broek had a solo homer for Valley.
