Kars wins over West Carleton

The Kars Aces won game two of the Greater Ottawa Fastball League Final Four playoff round 4-1 over West Carleton Electric on Thursday night in Manotick

Cory Alkerton had the win, allowing only three hits. Andy Barber took the loss.

The team exchanged runs in the first inning.

For West Carleton, Barber led off with a walk, stole second and scored on Chris Costello's single.

The Aces scored after Nick Ellis walked, stole second and scored on Alkerton's single.

Kars scored three runs in the fifth. With two out, Brad Pender reached when a hard hit grounder was misplayed, reaching second. The Electric opted to intentionally walk Ellis to put the force on, however Ian King singled to score Pender. Two more singles by Alkerton and Cory Morrison scored Ellis and King to make it 4-1 for Kars.

Alkerton retired six of the next seven WC batters to secure the win.
