Quyon comes back to beat Micksburg at Showcase

The first game at the Shawville men's fastpitch showcase on Friday night saw the Quyon Flyers come back to defeat the Micksburg Twins 5-4 in front of about 80 fans.

Gregg Garrity went the distance for Quyon. Matt Greer had a double, a homer and four RBIs for the Flyers.

Adam Rueckwald threw four scoreless for Micksburg and 16-year old Noah Fleurie finished the game for the Twins.

The second game of the night, attended by many more mosquitoes than fans, saw the Flyers defeat the Kingston Axemen 7-4. Trevor Lahey threw for the Flyers and Clayton Robinson and Jordan Macdonald pitched for the Axemen. Brad Pender hit one out for Kingston.

Seven more games are on tap at the Shawville R.A. on Saturday, with action starting at 9:30 a.m. The Quebec provincial Canada Games team will be playing as well as the Napanee U19 Express.
