Tavistock defends U23 title
The Tavistock Merchants successfully defended their Softball Canada U23 Men's Championship title in Saskatoon on Sunday.
Delisle, SK Pride, the host team, won silver after earning bronze in Carp last year. Harwood Corners from Ontario won bronze this year.
The five day event was held Wednesday through Sunday and seven teams participated.
Jack Becker of the Greater Ottawa Fastball League's Manotick Brewers was on the Tavistock team.
Joe Mick of the Micksburg Twins was also at the Championship playing for the Alvinston Aces. The Aces did not medal, but Mick had a good tournament, including two homers, and was in contention for All Star catching honours.
