West Carleton U20 wins first game in Cobourg
West Carleton Electric U20 won their first game at the Ontario Amateur Softball Association Provincial B tournament in Cobourg on Friday, defeating East Gwillimbury Rise 10-0.
Gabe Brown had the pitching win in the four inning run rule shortened game, allowing only one hit, walking one and hitting one batter.
Brown also was 2 for 3 with a double, walk and two RBIs. Conner Hopper had a triple and an RBI, as did Dylan Rorwick. Sammy Perkins had a double that drove in two runs.
The subsequent game vs Wilmot Thunder on Saturday morning was halted due to heavy rain and will be resumed on Sunday morning.
