WC and Manotick win on Wednesday (now with further details)

West Carleton Electric and Manotick Brewers earned wins in Fitzroy Harbour in Greater Ottawa Fastball League action on Wednesday night.

West Carleton 6 Quyon 5

The early game was a come from behind 6-5 win for West Carleton Electric over the Quyon Flyers. Gabe Brown (10K, 7H, 5BB, 1HBP) earned the complete game win for WC. Drew Hathway (5R, 1K, 4H, 4BB) took the loss in relief of Matt Greer (0R, 5K, 4H, 0BB). Greer had a solo home run for Quyon. Dylan Rorwick had a double and triple with 4 RBIs for WC.

With Quyon up 5-2 after six and a half innings, the Electric walked off the win in the bottom of the seventh. Gabe Brown reached base on an error, and Owen Brown walked. Colton Lecuyer's double scored the younger Brown. After a fly out, Rorwick's triple scored two to tie the game. With two bases open, Quyon elected to intentionally walk Conner Hopper and Finn Barton, but a subsequent walk to Sean Lecuyer scored the winning run.

Manotick 10 West Carleton 2

The night cap was a 10-2 win for Manotick Brewers over West Carleton. Adam Roth (11K, 7H, 1BB) got the seven-inning complete game win and also hit a homer for Manotick. Adam Rueckwald (6R, 6K 11H, 1BB) took the loss with an inning of relief from Gabe Brown (4R, 0K, 4H, 1BB).

Cole Hodges and Isaac Roth both had three hits and scored three runs for the Brewers. Jack Becker had two hits for Manotick and several nice defensive plays at third base. Hopper hit a massive two-run homer for WC that landed on the grass on Diamond 2 in the first inning, but those were the only runs for the 'Trics as Roth kept them off balance with various speeds and spins.
