West Carleton Electric put up two big wins on Thursday to take a share of first place and guarantee them a double life in the playoff round.

WC opened up with an 8-4 win over the Valley Vikings from Saskatchewan. Thomas McLean had the complete game victory on the slab for WC while Lachlan Dufour took the loss and had relief from three other pitchers. Jason McIntyre had a home run for WC.

The Electric won the late game in front of am enthusiastic crowd 6-1 over the third Ontario seed Chatsworth Longhorns. Carter Marshall went seven and got the pitching win. Kieran McComb took the loss with relief from Jakson Woods. The entire WC team hit very well, collectively only striking out once. Bryce Rebertz had homer for the Trics, while Jack Barton made an incredible catch in left field that saved a home run.

The Junior 'Trics play Brookfield, NS Elks at 7:45 p.m. on the final game of pool play on Friday night. A win puts them in the #1 seed for the playoff round, and based on tie -breakers they can fall no farther than #2 if they lose. The #1 vs #2 Game, with a trip to the Final on the line, will be played 4:15 p.m. on Saturday.
