Micksburg advances to Sunday at Hallman

The Micksburg Twins advanced to the semi-finals on Sunday at the Hallman Memorial Tournament in Kitchener with three wins so far.

The Twins won Friday night over the East Hants, NS Mastodons 5-1 in 11 innings. Joran Graham threw four innings to win in relief of Kyle Linton. David Watson took the loss with relief from Nick Neid. After being tied at one after ten, Micksburg scored four in the top of the 11th.

On Saturday morning the Toronto Batmen beat the Twins 8-0. Dustin Veenhoff earned the win and had one inning of relief from Tyler Randerson. Linton took the loss and had relief from Adam Rueckwald. 

Saturday afternoon the Twins beat the Oshweken Redmen 1-0 in their final pool play game. Graham threw a three hitter, as did losing pitcher Caleb Keeshig. The only run of the game was a solo homer from 17-year-old Cole Bateman.

The Twins two and one record set up a quarter-final game Saturday night against the Georgian Bay Giants. After getting down early, the Twins came back to win 6-3. Linton threw four to get the win while Graham pitched three in relief. Czech pitcher Adam Buchnar and Kyle Fry pitched for the Giants.

Next up is a semi-final game against the Waterdown Hammer at 10 a.m. on Sunday morning. Tavistock Merchants U23 and the Batmen are in the other semi.
