Softball Canada U20 Men's Canadian Championship starts Weds
The Softball Canada U20 Men's Canadian Championship starts on Wednesday July 30 in Saskatoon, with the finals scheduled for Sunday August 3.
The event has seven teams participating - the host Saskatoon Selects, Newfoundland and Labrador U20, Quebec U20, and four teams from Ontario: defending champions Plattsville Lightning, Chatsworth Longhorns, St. George Aces and Fingal Storm. Plattsville, who won in Carp last year, have virtually the same team for this year's event.
West Carleton Electric U20 fell just short of qualifying, however three players from their roster got picked up for the event. Conner Hopper was added by Plattsville, Colton Lecuyer was picked up by St. George and Fingal drafted Kaden Fowler. Hopper and Lecuyer both also play with WC's Greater Ottawa Fastball League team.
Team Quebec has two players from the GOFL participating - Cade Kuehl and Hunter Beauregard, both of whom play for the Quyon Flyers.
