Stittsville defeats Ottawa Blitz

Ottawa Blitz lost to Stittsville by a score of 9-0 in six innings last night.

Dan Bradley pitched another gem (1 hitter, 14Ks) while John Craig (3-3, 2RBI) and Dan Jessiman (3-4, 3RBI) lead the way offensively for Stittsville in a decisive victory over the Ottawa Blitz. Derrick Bulley took the loss for the Blitz, with relief from Jim Blakely.

The Blitz threatened in the first when John Hayden walked followed by a Scott Dumouchel single, but failed to push a run across.

Stittsville scored two in the third when Craig walked, stole second, and scored on Jessiman’s RBI double. Jessiman became the second run of the ball game, scoring on an RBI single off the bat of Darren Featherstone.

Stittsville scored again in the fifth and sixth innings, the attack highlighted by a Craig triple and a Jessiman home run.

Note: Manotick vs. Team Easton was postponed last night due to the rain.

Derick Bulley started the game and took the loss, not Jamie B.

It doesn't matter anyway.
The Blitz have no business playing in this league. It's a joke and makes a great league look terrible.

I'm guessing it's someone from the Valley Raiders who's much prouder to win the RA and stack their team then compete in the Best League around.

There isn't a league that is middle ground, so it's either the RA or the GOFL/UOVFL. It's more fun to win against decent teams than to get blown out by elite teams game after game like the Blitz will be all year.
The Blitz have weak pitching and weak hitting and were a mediocre RA team last year. Not sure what they were thinking by joining the GOFL.

Yeah, let's get along...or at least attach our names if we're going to rip into each other.

Reason we joined was that the RA wasn't sure if it was gonna go, as well we have players that scatter the RA league on other teams. We needed to put the core group together during the year who will be in tournamets together.
