Weds May 11 wrap up

In Wednesday night play in the UOVMFL and GOFL:

Micksburg defeated Pontiac 7-3 in the UOVMFL first game. Details to follow.

The Stittsville 56ers defeated Fitzroy Harbour in Game 1 of the GOFL schedule by a score of 3-1. Dan Bradley had the win for Stittsville, giving up only 3 hits in 7 innings of work. Brad Porter took the loss, with relief from Mark Wright. For the 56ers, Darren Featherstone went 2-3, with 2 RBI, a double, and a stolen base and Darren Ladouceur was 2-4, with a double. Jon Daley had the only RBI for WC Electric, and Todd Clouthier was 1-3 and scored the lone Harbour run.

Team Easton beat the Ottawa Blitz in the first GOFL game for the Blitz by a score of 6-0 in six innings. Dan Konkle had the pitching victory throwing a no-hitter with two walks. Jamie Blakely took the loss. Derrick Bulley also pitched for Ottawa in relief. Blakely and Bulley combined to allow only one hit - however the Blitz committed several errors resulting in unearned runs.

Manotick Lomor Printers won 6-5, defeating Carp I4C Victory in I4C's league debut. Duane Bromley took the loss in relief of Neil Cooke. Tony Riches had the complete game victory for Lomor. Mike Money led the attack for Carp going 4-4 with three singles, a triple and two runs scored while Pete Petit went 3-4 with 3 RBI’s. Rob Soubliere had three hits for Manotick, including the game winner.
