Qualifier thanks......

Feel free to skip this post, but I want to thank everyone that helped out in one way or another at the Qualifier in Fitzroy Harbour and Stittsville this past weekend. I think it was successful and I hope everyone enjoyed it.

Most of these folks probably don't read this blog, but I thought I would give them a shout out anyway. I'm sure I'll forget somebody, but oh well.......

- All of the WC Electric players and wives/girlfriends that helped out with BBQing, working the gate, etc., especially those that came on Sunday - you know who you are. And those of you that didn't help out, well you know who you are too! ;)
- Dale Hanna of WC Electric for being a top notch sponsor.
- Liz Hanlon for selling 50/50 tickets all weekend and running the silent auction.
- Sam Oliver and his gang from Stittsville that from all accounts had things running well at the Grove.
- Peter "The Voice" Peckett who did all the scorekeeping and announcing at the main diamond in Fitzroy Harbour. This guy does an excellent job and his scoresheets are so detailed it is incredible.
- Lorne Rice who did all the scorekeeping at the second diamond in Fitzroy.
- Peter Sawyer and his grounds crew who not only worked on the diamonds but chipped in BBQing as well when we needed them.
- Mick Peskett from Blackburn that filled in a BBQ shift for us.
- Expert bartenders Jimmy Hook, Karen Taylor, Sherry Krahn and Penny Clouthier.
- Shawn Williams for getting us some media coverage.
- The ISC guys Colin Smith and Mal Swift who kept things going well.
- The umpires who were easy to get along with and spent a whole pile of the game fees in the beer tent, especially UIC Peter K who actually bought me a beer and Alain G who brought the whole family to the tourney.
- The Fitzroy "Juniors" who filled in at the last minute as the fourteenth team, especially Nick Eckford who put the team together.
- Super fans Gail & Linda who worked the gate and came to all the games....good to see you at the park again ladies.
- Matt "Raccoony" Greer and Kenny Fleck from Quyon. These guys played in the 8 am game on Saturday, were beat and eliminated from the tournament. These two stayed all day, drank our Labatt 50 and ate our burgers and rolled out the beer garden at 11 pm that night. Now that's a pair of fastball players! (I still need to get that shirt from you guys.)
- All the players and hard core fans that came to the park for all the games, ate our burgers, drank our beer, bought our tickets and generally made the tourney successful.

Great job Adam.....Hard to believe there would be some Quyon Flyers in the beer tent late at night.

The Quyon Flyers reputation for drinking beer is such that they should appoach a major brewery to sponsor their tournament next year.

We could do that but not too many teams drink Labatt's 50

Great job Adam. A well run tournament. I think the ISC will look to the Harbour again in future for a Qualifier. Now if only we can help you by speaking to the folks in Carp a little earlier to make sure that they will hold the diamonds for you! A fun weekend all around.
