Pontiac fastball rumours

Some interesting fastball rumours from the Pontiac Equity newspaper, by sports reporter Wilbur McLean. The articles are at http://www.theequity.ca/te_page03.htm (but only for another day or two).

According to Wilbur's reports in the September 6th edition, page 3:

In an article on the Shawille Snappers winning the McNab/Braeside Junior Fastball league title:

"Next year the Snappers plan to move from the six-team McNab/Braeside league to the R.A. League in Ottawa. The R.A. League is a higher grade of fastpitch. The Quyon Junior Flyers made a similar move three years ago, winning the McNab/Braeside league then shifting to the R.A. League, this year capturing the regular season title there."

In another story about the Quyon Flyers losing in the R.A. League final, Wilbur writes:

"The Flyers are also considering switching leagues for next year, and may move to either the Greater Ottawa Fastball League or Upper Ottawa Valley Men's Fastball League, both of which represent the top tier of fastpitch in the Ottawa and Ottawa Valley areas, respectively."

I think there are actually only five teams in the McNab/Braeside league. Wilbur might have made a typo there.

Micksburg Jr. Twins
Shawville Snappers
Eganville Youngblood
McNab/Braeside
Fitzroy Harbour Badham Carpentry
