Shawville wins Junior League playoffs
The Shawville Jr Snappers won the best-of-five final against the Micksburg Jr Twins in game five to win the McNab/Braeside Junior Men's Fastball title.
Matt Greer threw a complete game 1-hitter in the 4 - 0 victory. Joran Graham also threw the complete game, taking the loss.
In the top of the first inning, after striking out the first two Shawville batters, Graham gave up a walk to Dennis McCleary. Greer then made him pay the price, knocking out a Graham offering to deep left, to give the Snappers the early 2 - 0 lead.
In the fourth inning, McCleary hit a high fly ball to right field, and was almost at second base, when the Micksburg fielder dropped it. The relay to third was wild and over the fence, allowing McCleary to score on the series of errors. The Snappers added one more to ensure the victory.
