Team Easton defeats Quyon Flyers 3-0
from Cory Morrison
Dan Konkle pitched a gem for Team Easton last night in Quyon, giving up 3 hits and striking out 16 while walking 3.
Matt Greer threw pretty good as well for the Flyers, giving up 7 hits and striking out 5 while walking 3.
The scoring started in the top of the second as John Peck singled and was sacrificed to second by Dan Konkle. After getting Chad Milne to ground out to second base, Scott Marion ripped a single to right field to cash Peck.
The score stayed 1-0 for Easton until the top of the 6th when John Peck walked and was advanced to 3rd base on a Chad Milne single. The next batter Scott Marion then grounded out to 3rd base putting runners on 2nd and 3rd. Newly acquired Lukas Kamps then singled up the middle picking up his first hit of the year and cashing both Peck and Milne.
Quyon had threatened in a couple of innings and stranded a few runners at 3rd base. Joe McCleary continued to swing a hot stick as he went 3/3 with a double and two singles. He accounted for all of the Flyers hits and the only other players to reach base did so by BB.
