Easton defeats Blitz 11-7 in shootout in Stittsville

Easton 11 VS Blitz 7
Easton opened the scoring in the bottom of the 1st as Dave Tubman led off with a walk was sacrificed to second by Chad Milne then driven home by a Todd Fraser single, his first of 5 Rbi's on the night. Jamie Blakely was able to retire the next two Easton batters to hold the score at 1-0. Easton added 4 more runs in the bottom of 2 as Dan Konkle led off with a single then Pat O'Connor reached base on error to the Blitz pitcher. Lukas Kamps then laid down a sac bunt to put the runners on 2nd and 3rd. Blakely was able to strike out Scott Marion but walked Dave Tubman to load the bases. Chad Milne then singled to drive in two Easton Runs and that was followed by a hard line shot off the bat of Todd Fraser that skipped under the left fielders glove, Fraser using his lighting speed made it all the way to 3rd then promptly tried to make it home on a Blitz overthrow but was quickly gunned out at the plate to end the inning. Easton changed pitchers with a 5-0 lead after 3 innings and the Blitz capitalized getting on the scoreboard with a single run in the 4th. Easton would get that one back in the bottom half of the inning as Scott Marion singled, Dave Tubman walked again, Chad Milne hit into a fielders choice erasing Marion at 3rd then Todd Fraser singled to drive home Tubman for his 3rd run of the game. With Easton up 6-1 heading into the 5th the Bltiz mounted a comeback by sending 10 batters to the plate and scoring 5 runs to knot the score at 6. Easton responded in their half of the 5th as Cory Morrison led of with a singe, Dan Konkle singled and Pat O'Connor singled to drive in Morrison. After Kamps and Marion both struck out Tubman doubled to score two more easton runners. Milne and Fraser both followed that up with singles to plate two more and put Easton up 11-6. Dan Konkle came back into the game and allowed 1 more Blitz run over the next two innings to cap the scoring at 11-7.
Pitching:
Dan Konkle had the start for Easton and threw the first three, with relief in the fourth and fifth from Kyle Olson, and then Konkle pitched the final two innings.
Jamie Blakely had the start for Ottawa Blitz, and was relieved in 5th by Derick Bulley.
