Harbour Days Fastball Results
Harbour Days was this past weekend in Fitzroy Harbour, and traditionally that means some fastball, beer and burgers on the Sunday.
Due to all rain overnight, the games were moved to the "upper diamond" that drained a bit better. This meant some deeper fences and the "grey monster" in right was not in play.
A good crowd of Harbourites come out to watch the two games and were not disappointed as the games were well played, with lots of scoring.
Game 1 saw the local WC Electric come from behind to defeat their cross-river rivals the Quyon Flyers 5-4 in the bottom of the seventh, with Shawn Rebertz driving in the winning run with a walk off single. Jimmy Ryan had the complete game win, while Matt Greer took the loss for the Flyers.
Game 2 saw two of the GOFL's premier pitchers duel with Dan Konkle for Team Easton facing Dan Bradley of Stittsville 56ers. Stittsville won this one by a score of 6-3.
Thanks to all three visiting teams for sticking around afterward and supporting the beer garden and the BBQ - it's appreciated. Thanks as well to the great fans of West Carleton Electric that showed up in good numbers to watch.
