I4C defeats WC Electric 6-2 on Tuesday night

Carp I4C Victory beat West Carleton Electric by a score of 6-2 in GOFL play on Tuesday night, using the long ball on four occasions to seal the win.

Trevor Wood had the win for I4C with relief from Neil Cooke. Brad Porter took the loss for Fitzroy while Bud Hanlon saw action in relief.

WC Electric scored the first run in the bottom of the first. Trevor Barton continued his hot hitting with a single and was moved to second on a Jon Daley sac bunt. Shawn Rebertz hit an RBI single to put the home side up 1-0 early.

I4C scored three in the third inning. Brooks Paziuk hit a one-out single and then was brought in on a Mike Money two-run shot. Kevin McGuire then stroked a drop ball out for a solo HR that put I4C Victory up with a 3-1 lead.

Victory added to their lead in the top of the fourth. Eric Colvin led off the inning with a solo home run that chased Porter from the game in favour of Hanlon. Later in the inning, Al Read hit a two-out double on a flare to centre and was brought in on a RBI single by Pakiuk.

In the top of the seventh, I4C padded their lead when McGuire hit his second homer of the night, a solo shot, to put the Victory up 6-1.

WC Electric managed to respond with a run in the bottom of the seventh. Beef Johnson led things off with a double and was brought in by Steve Cavanagh's second double of the game. The game ended at 6-2.
