UOVMFL Week 2 results

Fitzroy/McNab Badham Carpentry 8, Micksburg Jr. Twins 1
Fitzroy/McNab traveled to Micksburg to take on the Jr Twins last Wednesday with Fitzroy/McNab coming out on top to move to 2 - 0 on the year. The final score of the game was 8 - 1. Micksburg drops to 0 - 2.
"Doug" Christie Fabian took the loss for Micksburg with relief coming from Ryan Clarke. Andrew Jahn was credited with the win for Fitzroy/McNab with relief from Troy Wilson.
Patty Sul led the way for Fitzroy/McNab going 3/3 with a two-run homer and a walk. Nick Eckford went 2/4 with a two-run homer of his own. Kyle Sinclair and Billy Stone led the way offensively for Micksburg, going 2/2 and 2/3 respectively. Stone had the lone run scored for the twins.
Shawville Snappers 13, Fitzroy/McNab Badham Carpentry 3 (Game 1)
In game 1 of a double header Sunday afternoon in McNab the Shawville Snappers took a 13 - 3 decision to remain the only undefeated team in the league. Matt Greer went all five innings for Shawville earning the victory while Andrew Jahn pitched the full game for Fitzroy/McNab.
Dave Bahm got Fitzroy/McNab on the board in the third inning when he pulled a Greer offering deep down the right field line for a solo-homerun.
The Snappers offense was led by Shawn Laframboise (3/4, HR, 2B, 3 RBI) and Matt Greer (2/2, HR, BB, HBP). Tyler Cluff also went 3/4 with three singles, and two runs scored.
Fitzroy/McNab got a bit of momentum going in the bottom of the fifth. Shawn Ryan started things off with a two-out single and was cashed in on an Andrew Jahn two-run homer. Greer settled down and struck out the next batter.
Shawville Snappers 6, Fitzroy/McNab Badham Carpentry 5 (Game 2)
In game 2 of the double header, Greer went the distance again earning the victory while Troy Wilson pitched the complete game in a losing effort for Badham Carpentry.
Fitzroy/McNab got things going right away in the bottom of the first, jumping out to a four run lead. With the bases loaded, Andrew Jahn hit a fly ball the dropped in on the Snappers second baseman. With a one-run lead, Nick Eckford came to the plate and knocked a bases-clearing triple to the fence in left, eluding Snappers left-fielder Joe McCleary.
The Snappers got two back in the second with Bucky Fleck scoring on a fielders choice, and Curtis Daley following him in on a throwing error charged to the catcher.
After adding another one in the third, Laframboise gave Shawville a 6-4 lead in the fourth with a three-run homer off of Wilson.
Badham Carpentry got one back in the fifth off a Troy Wilson RBI double that went off the fence in centerfield. Shawville would hold on for a 6-5 win to improve to 3-0. McNab moves to 2-2.
Notes: The Friday night game in Micksburg between the Juniors and the Seniors was rained out and will be played this Wednesday at 8:30PM.
Other UOVMFL games this week sees an all Micksburg matchup on Friday at 8:30 as the Juniors host the Seniors, while the Micksburg Juniors travel to McNab to play Badham Carpentry on Sunday at 6pm. The Snappers have the week off.
