Sydenham wins Newboro Tournament

The 38th Annual Newboro Fastball Tournament was held this past weekend at Memorial Park in Newboro. After having only four teams last year, a full slate of eight teams took part in this year's event including host Newboro, Greenbush, and Smiths Falls from the North Leeds Mens Fastball League. After round-robin play the semi-finals saw the Williamsburg Cigars face off against Sydenham while the Greely Eagles met with Milliken. Sydenham defeated Williamsburg 3 - 0 and Milliken handed Greely a 5 - 0 loss to set up a Sydenham - Milliken final. Having to play back to back games seemed too much for Milliken as Sydenham went on to a 6 - 0 victory to take the championship.
