Easton takes Game 2 of semis - updated with details

Easton took a 2-0 lead in their best of 5 GOFL semi-final series with a 3-1 victory over Carp last night at the Carp Fairgrounds.

The game was scoreless until the 3rd when with two out Chad Milne stroked a line shot over the fence in right field to put easton up 1-0. Carp threatened in their half of the 3rd when with 1 out Eric Colvin reached on an error then stole second base. After Brooks Pazuik flied out Kyle Gourgon singled sharply to left field but a strong throw by Lukas Kamps kept Colvin at 3rd base. Gourgon proceeded to steal second however Dan Konkle was able to strike out Tim Power to end the inning

Easton added to their lead in the 4th as Todd Fraser led off with a walk. With Randy Peck at bat Fraser attempted to steal second but the throw sailed into centerfield allowing Fraser to take 3rd. Peck then hit a high fly to shallow right that Trevor Wood made a sliding stab at but couldn't come up with allowing Fraser to score.

Easton added another in the 5th when Lukas Kamps reached 3rd on an error to the Carp centerfielder then scored on a fielders choice off the bat of Chad Milne.

Up 3-0 heading into the bottom of the 7th Carp pinch hitter Al Read led off with a double to the gap in left-center. With 1 out Read took 3rd on a pass ball then scored on a sac fly off the bat of Eric Colvin. Konkle was then able to get Pazuik to ground out to end the game.
