Team Easton 7 WC Electric 1

Team Easton defeated WC Electric 7-1 on Tuesday night in Fitzroy Harbour in five innings.

Brad Porter had the win for Easton while Bud Hanlon took the loss with relief from Steve Cavanagh.

After Easton was retired three straight in the first, Jon Daley led off with a double for the home team but was stranded at third.

Easton scored three in the second innning. Dave Tubman singled and moved to second on a passed ball. He was brought in on a Chad Milne single. Milne then scored on a Andy Davey home run.

Team Easton put four across in the top of the third. Cory Morrison led off with a double, then Dave Tubman walked. Chad Milne then hit a homer to left field to put the visitors up 6-0. Steve Cavanagh then came in on relief of Bud Hanlon. After geting two outs, Pat O'Connor hit a single, and Lukas Kamps was hit by a pitch. Kyle Gourgon then drove in the seventh run for Easton.

Milne almost had another homer in the fourth, driving one of the "grey monster" in right field - he ended the night 3 for 3 and just a double short of the cycle.

WC Electric threatened to prolong the game in the bottom of the fifth. Jeff Cavanagh led off with a double and moved to third on a ground out. Adam Brown reached base on an error, scoring J Cav. After consecutive walks to Jon Daley and Beef Johnson, the bases were loaded, but Porter pitched out of the jam retiring the next two batters to preserve the 7-1 victory.
