The first game of Manotick`s doubleheader Wednesday night featured a fine pitching duel between Derick Bulley and Trevor Lahey. Manotick scored the first run of the game in the third inning, with Trevor Power doubling home Joe Allan, who had singled. The Blitz tied the game in the fourth, capitalizing on an infield error and a dropped tag to cash Andrew Bruce. After that, neither team was able to advance anyone past second base and both pitchers looked very sharp in completing the game.

The pitchers were the stars of the second game as well, with Cory Alkerton and Paul Ceppi each throwing solid complete games and combining for 29 strikeouts. Manotick scored all three runs on the same play in the second inning, with Jason Smith driving a double into the left field corner to bring home Calvin Medynski, who tripled to lead off the inning, Lindsay Medynski and Rob Soublier. Following that, Alkerton effectively shut down the Manotick offence by utilizing an excellent change of speeds. Orleans managed only two hits off Ceppi, who made a dominating debut for the Printers, but both those hits were solo home runs courtesy of the Alkerton brothers.
