Victoria Day weekend
As I was out freezing my ar$e cutting the grass today, I was thinking back to the Victoria Day Weekend Tournament they used to have down in Kingston.
Memories include:
- Adam Lake of the Kingston Cowboys slaving away, seemingly alone, trying to get the diamonds in shape to go.
- Joran Graham taking a line drive off the melon and having to go the hospital.
- Playing in rain/sleet that seemed to be falling horizontally with a wind chill of about minus 3C.
- A cumulative record for WC Electric in 4 years of 2-14 (of which one victory was a default win).
- Standing in the beer garden chugging a pint and somebody asking "why are we here?".... and resolving never to go back. No fault of the tournament organizers, just the unpredictablility of the weather.
Not surprisingly, they don't have that tournament anymore.
