Stittsville stays undefeated

Stittsville stayed undefeated on Wednesday night in GOFL action with a 7-1 victory over West Carleton Electric in five innings.

Darren Featherstone had the complete game win while Bud Hanlon took the loss with relief from Steve Cavanagh.

Stittsville got rolling early when their first four batters of the game all came round to score. Scott Herriott led off with a home run. John Craig drilled a ball that bounced off Hanlon for a single, then was brought in on a Dan Jessiman single. When Darren Featherstone homered to bring the lead to 4-0, Steve Cavanagh came into pitch.

Herriott and Craig had RBIs in the second inning to push the lead to 6-0 and a monster shot by Kyle Jamieson to lead off the third made it seven-zip.

West Carleton managed to score one in the fifth. Mitchell Taylor walked, was moved to second on a Adam Brown sac bunt and scored on a Jon Daley RBI. When the Eletric failed to get another run, the game ended on the mercy rule.
