UOVMFL update

Week 4 Update

The Shawville Snappers continued their hot start with an 8-0 victory over the Micksburg JR Twins. Matt Greer threw all 6 innings for Shawville giving up 1 hit.
Micksburg handed the ball to Doug Christie for the start and took the loss. Ryan Clarke saw some time in relief. Shawn Laframboise had a solo homerun for the Snappers.

The Douglas Green Sox came out with their first ever UOVMFL victory on Wednesday night (June 3), by a score of 9-3 over McNab.

The Sunday night (June 7) game saw McNab travel to Micksburg to take on the SR twins. The two teams played to a 4-4 draw. Starting for Micksburg and going four innings was Corey Costello (4.2IP 15K 0 Hits 0 ER). Shawn Costello (2.1IP 9K 3 Hits 2ER)closed out the final three for the twins. McNab countered with Spencer Campbell for the first two, and Troy Wilson came into the game in relief to finish the final five frames. Micksburg jumped out to a 3 run lead in the first inning, but failed to capitalize on any of their other chances. Corey Costello looked very sharp through four innings, but made way for his cousin Shawn after experiencing some tightness in his arm. Taking advantage of some walks and passed ball strikeouts with timely hitting, McNab scored 4 runs with 2 outs in the top half of the 7th to take a 4-3 lead. The Twins rallied with their last at bat, when Chad Costello singled in Barry McIntyre with two outs to even the game at 4.

Week 5 sees Douglas travel to Micksburg Wednesday night for a tilt with the Sr. Twins. Shawville is the host of a fastball doubleheader on Thursday night, as the Snappers host McNab at 7:00, followed by a showdown with the Micksburg Sr. Twins immediately thereafter.
