Friday night at the Showcase

There was no joy in Fitzroy on Friday night...none at all.

The Showcase started off with the Fitzroy Jr Electric Peewees losing to Kinburn by a score of 15-11. Some good action in this one as both teams played well and made some nice plays.

Things got much worse in the GOFL game of the night as Stittsville defeated West Carleton Electric by a score of 11-1 in five innings.

Bud Hanlon took the loss with relief from Steve Cavanagh and Troy Wilson. Darren Featherstone had the win for the 56ers.

Stittsville scored two in the top of the second on a two run homer off the bat of Scott Jessiman.

The Electric answered with one in the bottom of the inning. Jeff Cavanagh led off with a double and was scored on his brother Steve's single.

Things went wrong in a big way for the home team in the third as Stittsville sent 11 men to the plate and scored 6 runs. Kyle Jamieson led off with a home run to start the inning, and Darren Featherstone also hit a shot.

Featherstone hit another homer in the fourth, a three run dinger, to push the lead to 11-1.
