North Gower and Ottawa Blitz tie at 5 in second game of DH

with info from Tyler Cox

The North Gower Marlboroughs and Ottawa Blitz tied 5-5 in the second game of the doubleheader in Manotick on Wednesday night.

The game was played in a constant rain until it was called after the fifth.

North Gower used four pitchers. Shannon Borho started, was relieved by Ryan Chatten, who was relieved by Gord Flannery, who was relieved by Andrew Wiggin (who only faced one batter). Flannery earned the credit for the tie.

Jamie Blakely earned the tie for the Blitzos, throwing 4 1/3, and had relief for the final two outs from Derick Bulley.

The Blitz threatened in the bottom of the fifth. With two out, the bases loaded and the score tied 5-5 and rookie Wiggam in to pitch, wild pitch went into the screen. North Gower catcher Benoit Boivin scrambled and flipped the ball to Wiggim who applied a tag on the runner to get the final out.
