I4C Victory 5 WC Electric 0 on Thursday

I4C Victory defeated West Carleton Electric 5-0 in GOFL play on Thursday night in Carp.

Kyle Olson had the win, scattering 5 hits, while Steve Cavanagh took the loss with relief from Troy Wilson.

Fitzroy had their best chance to score in the first. Beef Johnson singled with one out and Jeff Cavanagh walked. They both advanced 60 feet on a wild pitch. However Derek Barber lined out and Johnson was doubled off third to end the threat.

Carp's first run was in the third. Aaron Amo reached on an error, stole second and scored on Al Read's RBI blooper.

The game was a tight pitchers' duel until the fifth when Victory broke things open. Amo led off with a single, and Tim Power walked. A long fly by Kevin McGuire advanced the runners a base. Then Read fouled off several pitches to earn a walk and load the bases. Tony McDonald's liner to centre scored three. McDonald advanced to third on a wild pitch and scored on Todd Storms sacrifice fly.
