Blitz win 5-2 over West Carleton Electric UPDATED

The Ottawa Blitz won 5-2 over West Carleton Electric in the early game in Manotick on Wednesday.

Shannon Borho had the win, while Steve Cavanagh took the loss.

The Blitz scored three in the first inning. With two out Derick Bulley and Tony Searle walked. Shannon Borho's bloop double with the runners on the move scored two. Borho came home on Anil Hayne's RBI single.

Ottawa pushed their lead to 5-0 in the fourth. Russ Mitchell tripled with two out an scored on Andrew Bruce's triple. Bruce then scored on Jamie Blakely's single.

West Carleton scored their runs in the fifth. Adam Brown reached on an error, and scored on Jon Daley's triple. Daley was cashed on Derek Barber's single. Jeff Barber then drove the ball to right-centre; but unfortunately for him and the 'Trics, the ball bounced over the fence for a ground rule double putting runners on second and third with none out. Borho got out of the inning with two strikeouts and a ground ball.

Final score: 5-2 for the Blitzos.
