OASA Elimination Tournaments this weekend

Two OASA Elim tournaments this weekend, with another next weekend.

Junior Elims

Junior Eliminations, to see who will play in the nationals in Napanee, will be held in Owen Sound. There are 14 teams in this event with representation from Jarvis, Kitchener-Waterloo, Tavistock, "Southern Ontario", Glanworth, Linwood, New Dundee, and Newmarket. Owen Sound has two teams participating. Napanee also has two teams, which both have guaranteed spots at the Nationals, with the host Shoeless Joe's Express and the defending champions North Key Express, featuring local players Joran Graham and Joel Langford. Sydenham will also be participating, using four GOFL players - Andy, Jeff, & Derek Barber from WC Electric, as well as Kevin Schonfield from Barrhaven. Word is that there will two teams (in addition to the two Napanee teams) that will qualify for Canadians.

Bantam Elims

The Bantam Elims are in Stratford with 16 teams participating. Teams include Highgate, Stratford, Oshawa, Cobourg, New Hamburg, Pickering, Teeswater, Fullarton, Jordan, Stratford, Napanee, Kitchener/Waterloo, Tavistock, Port Perry and a team from the Ontario Rural Softball Association. Domville from down near Prescott will be participating, as will the Micksburg Twins from the Upper Ottawa Valley.

Peewee Elims

The OASA has released the Peewee Elimination draw, for the tournament to be held in Toanche, up near Midland on the July 8-10 weekend. There are 14 teams participating - Cobourg, Wellesley, Campbellford, New Hamburg, Brantford, Toanche, Kitchener-Waterloo, Shakespeare, Port Perry, Belleville, Chepstow and Napanee. The Ontario Rural Softball Association will have a representative as well. There is also a team from Ottawa playing at the event. Does anyone have any info on what minor association they are from?
