Micksburg wins 3-1 over Barrhaven with a few details and GOFL playoff info

with info from Kerr Childerose

Micksburg Twins beat Barrhaven Broadway Blues last night 3-1 in a GOFL neutral site game in Fitzroy Harbour. The games was halted in the fifth inning due to lightning but will go in the books as completed.

Joran Graham had the win last night, striking out 13 and allowing only three hits. Trevor Lahey took the loss.

Twins hitting stats provided:
Kerr Childerhose 1/2 1R
Corey Costello 1/2 1RBI
Joran Graham 1/2 1R
Paul Griffith 1/2 1RBI 1R
Mike Moss 1/2 1RBI

That clinches first for the Twins. Barrhaven will finish 8th. The teams will face each other in the first round of playoffs to see who advances to the Final Weekend Showdown tournament on September 6 and 7 in Fitzroy.

One more game tonight and the GOFL regular season is over - Quyon at Carp, starting at 8pm. Carp has finished second, but the result of this game will determine their first round opponent. If Quyon wins, they finish sixth and will face third place Kars in the first round and Carp would play Stittsville. If Carp wins or ties, the Flyers will finish seventh and face Carp, while Stittsville would then play Kars.

It was already determined last week that West Carleton Electric will play the Manotick Taylor's Blitz.
